What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Clerk position at Taurus Engineering?
Responsible for all aspects of shipping and delivery of all products incoming and outgoing. They organize and monitor the shipping of all items shipped to ensure the shipping process remains efficient and effective. This position works closely with the planning, purchasing, and production departments to ensure items are shipped out promptly and to verify that required items are purchased and accounted for. Ensures customer satisfaction by staying in contact and relaying all communications concerning the delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Verifies that accurate record keeping for both incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Determines routing and Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Manage all outbound shipments, manage all packaging materials, package products to be shipped, and arrange transportation services.
- Coordinating domestic and international Deliveries to ensure prompt and proper movement.
- Prepare Commercial Invoices, Packing Slips, Bol, and/or additional Shipping Documents as needed.
- Reviewing Shipping Documents to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate with carriers and/or any other parties handling the freight and ensure that the shipper and consignee are aware of any challenges/issues that may occur.
- Plan and track shipment (s) according to customer requirements for both Domestic and International Shipping Standards.
- Analyzing and Optimizing Logistical Procedures.
- Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.
- Monitoring shipments, costs, timeline, and productivity.
- Experience in customer service.
- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking.
Supervision Responsibilities:

Organizational Responsibilities:
- Receive requests from other department heads.
- Routinely communicates with shippers outside the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in transportation/ logistics.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data entry.
- Experience with SAGE.
- Vast Knowledge of Courier Web Portals (i.e., FedEx, DHL, and UPS).
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Advanced knowledge of logistics and transportation.
- Experience conducting employee reviews and creating goals for their team.
Travel:
No regular travel is expected.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Excel.
- Proficient in Word.
- Proficient in Outlook.
