Position Title: Receiving Specialist
Reports to: Receiving Supervisor
Position Description:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and recording all incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and equipment for the manufacturing facility. This role ensures the integrity of inventory records, reports discrepancies or damages, and supports overall inventory accuracy to maintain smooth production operations.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and report any visible damage.
- Compare received materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods, and communicate issues to Purchasing.
- Manually enter incoming inventory information into the receiving log.
- Process receipts in the company’s ERP system and maintain accurate receiving records.
- Electronically save all documentation related to the purchase order.
- Safely move and store received goods in the designated storage areas.
- Process internal transfers of materials between departments.
- Communicate received shipment information to relevant departments (e.g., Purchasing, Production, Quality).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area in compliance with company safety procedures.
- Meet daily and weekly receiving deadlines and support production flow.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Organizational Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with Purchasing, Production, Inventory, and other departments to ensure a timely flow of materials.
- Provide administrative support to related departments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform basic math and reconcile quantities.
- Proficient in using computers and office equipment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous receiving experience.
- Experience working in a warehouse setting.
