WORK OBJECTIVE:
The primary responsibility of the QC Lab Technician is to measure parts using Standard Metrology Methods, Vison Systems and CMM. He/she is also responsible to perform a variety of daily to complex quality control tests.

· Interacts with production, R&D Department, or other plant personnel to communicate test results, assigns, and provide guidance on quality control issues.
· Performs manufacturing batch record and QC data audits for compliance to processes, procedures, and ensures completeness and accuracy of documentation prior to product release, reject and/or lot closure.
· Perform deviation, nonconforming material and corrective and preventive action activities including but not limited to control of non conforming material, data entry, investigation, and material disposition.
· Responsible for calibration of measuring and test equipment.
· Participate in internal audits as an auditor and auditee as needed to support the Quality department.
· Assist in the management of facility and temperature checks throughout the facility.
· Flows information and dimensional results to SQE.
· Performs Incoming inspection and product release functions.
· Provides administrative and project support in the area of quality.
· Assists in the maintenance of measuring equipment calibration.
· Assists with internal audits as required.
· Knowledgeable regarding and/or exposure to risk management as it relates to products and processes.
· Plus additional duties as assigned by the quality manager.
3MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some quality control inspection experience, preferably in the production of firearms; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control to maximize the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
· Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
· Skill in the use of common inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
· Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and geometrical tolerances
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and can perform basic geometry calculations
· Ability to read and interpret blue prints
· Ability to use a gauge and calibrate
· Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions
· Ability to pay close attention to detail
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort usually involving some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Usually involves some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking or standing.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity. Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors.
