Position Summary
The Senior Corporate Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, performing complex analyses, and providing strategic insights to drive business decisions. This role will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, operations, and senior leadership, to support the company’s financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee and execute key accounting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Monitor and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and intercompany transactions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Partner with the Operations Finance team to create and analyze budgets and forecasts.
- Provide variance analysis and recommend actions to align actual results with financial targets.
- Audits and Compliance:
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting and reporting processes.
- Leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Act as a trusted advisor to corporate controller and business leaders, providing insights and recommendations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, preferably within industrial services, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems (Viewpoint highly preferred) and advanced proficiency in Excel.
