What are the responsibilities and job description for the MD, CFO - FCM position at Taurus Search?
A leading Fintech firm is looking for a MD, CFO-FCM (Futures Commission Merchant). The MD, CFO-FCM is the head of the FCM accounting and finance department. This individual will oversee accounting, finance, and treasury and have an ongoing impact on FCM financial operations. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Oversee FCM Financial Operations: financial reporting, cash management, investment settlements, reconciliation and integration of the GL.
- Manage FCM capital position and daily liquidity needs.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting including reporting, regulatory filings, and internal control activities.
- Manage FCM finance personnel and finance systems that impact the FCM and FCM reporting.
- Ensure the firm complies with relevant regulatory entities (CFTC, CME, NFA, FINRA, IRS, and FASB).
- Participate as an active member in various FCM Committees, such as Operational Risk, Treasury Investment, Enterprise risk, and others.
- Serve as primary liaison with auditors: CFTC, CME, FINRA, etc.
- Oversee distribution of daily financial reports to the CEO and COO
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree of Science in Accounting/Finance
- Master's Degree (or equivalent) experience in accounting or finance, CPA, or Series 27 a plus
- 10 years of experience in an executive leadership role
- Must have an understanding of Segregation rules, applicable to operating as a clearing FCM.
- Understanding of advanced accounting, CFTC regulatory issues and tax (transfer pricing and customer 1099 reporting)
Salary : $225,000 - $300,000
