Taverna at Downtown Austin is seeking friendly and professional individuals for our Host/Hostess position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Warmly welcome guests as they arrive, escort guests to their assigned tables and offering menus.
- Manage and organize waitlists during busy hours, ensuring guests are seated as promptly as possible.
- Handle phone inquiries about reservations, menu items, and restaurant services.
- Ensure the hostess stand and entrance area are tidy, presentable, and welcoming.
- Observe the dining room for guest satisfaction and assist with any immediate needs.
- Help with tasks such as setting up tables or assisting in other areas when needed.
Key Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant required
- Experience with Open Table restaurant-reservation system required
- Must be upbeat, energetic and positive
- Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone
- Keep clean and professional appearance at all times
- Ability to stand/walk and stay focused for extended periods of time
