Job Summary: The Assistant Project Manager – Infrastructure at Tavistock Development Company supports the successful planning, execution, and completion of infrastructure projects. This role assists in coordinating project activities, managing timelines, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and budgetary standards. The Assistant Project Manager collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate project milestones and deliverables.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in planning and scheduling project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with project team members, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are met within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and project plans.
- Generate progress reports, meeting minutes, and project status updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct site inspections and participate in quality control processes to verify workmanship and materials meet project specifications.
- Assist in monitoring project budgets, expenses, and cost tracking.
- Review and process invoices, change orders, and payment applications in collaboration with the finance and accounting teams.
- Identify project risks, issues, and challenges; escalate critical issues to project managers for resolution.
- Implement corrective actions and proactive measures to mitigate project-related risks and delays.
- Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including project team members, consultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Respond to inquiries, requests for information (RFIs), and participate in project meetings and presentations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Planning is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered.
- 1-4 years of experience in project management or construction administration, preferably in infrastructure projects within the land development or construction industry.
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Projects), Smartsheets, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in project documentation and reporting.
