What are the responsibilities and job description for the Former Operator (Second Shift) position at Tavo Packaging Inc?
Essential duties/Responsibilities:
Duties performed by employees in this position will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out.
- Conducts periodic quality checks. Takes corrective action to fix defects identified.
- Feeds unglued cartons into Folder gluer machine.
- Packs cartons of glued cartons into cases with right case count.
- Performs repairs during production runs as well as troubleshooting. (if needed)
- Performs simple copy changes as well job make readies.
- Performs daily, weekly and monthly machine maintenance.
- Communicates with operators from previous and following shifts to review any problems experienced on the machine during ones shift.
- Communicates with supervisor to determine priorities for the day and identify any make readies or copy changes, or special directions related to the department.
- Performs purge procedures when changing to a new product and completes the required checklist.
- Covers breaks for other operators and catcher packers.
- Completes appropriate end of shift paperwork, accounting time for operator, and machine start and stop time off hour meter.
- Performs routine housekeeping at the end of shift or during break downs.
- Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision.
- Understands Runs at standards, waste standards, total utilization at standards.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED or three (3) months of related training or experience. Successful completion of a minimum of six (6) weeks of in-house operator training.
Training Requirements:
- Safety procedures
- LO/TO
- Complete Machine Operator training
