The Principal Software Engineer primarily developing code, testing, and maintaining sub-systems and applications. They design, scope, and develop requirements for applications. They provide high quality service to their customers, and are able to identify opportunities to improve existing code. They work independently on a wide range of issues as a seasoned professional with a full understanding of company practices, policies, and procedures; and should have a strong familiarity with the company's code base, and industry practices. They may receive general instructions on new assignments. Mentor and provide guidance to others on a regular basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Develops new software packages, performs upgrades and / or fixes to existing operating software packages.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Marketing and Product Managers to design, implement and test software applications
- Respond to technical requests regarding assigned application or component.
- Remain up to date with the latest software and computer technology
- Works as individual or participates as a member of a software development team
- Other duties as assigned.
