Cafe Worker/Barista

Hello! Tay Tay's is a brand new cafe opening near downtown Spokane, WA. Open Tuesday-Sunday with extended hours Friday/Saturday and shortened hours on Sunday. Closed every Monday for a guaranteed day off for all employees. The menu consists of coffee drinks, tea drinks, house soda drinks, beer, and wine. Food side is primarily baked goods with salads, sandwiches, and charcuterie. My expectation is to hire driven individuals who desire to learn all parts of the operation.

Job Summary

I am hiring for multiple positions.

First a lead barista to spearhead the drink program, lead trainings, (coffee, tea, etc).

I am also hiring cafe/service industry professionals that are interested working all aspects of operations.

Barista, baker, register, busser, and dishwasher are just some of the roles expected to be filled throughout a shift.

Pay range is before tips and DOE.

Mostly, I'm looking for a good fit in a friendly, upbeat, and lighthearted work environment. I am looking for people with a sense of urgency, positive attitude, and welcoming demeanor.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards. Have knowledge of each of the drinks and menu items.
• Work prep lists to ensure cafe is fully stocked for rushes and future service.
• Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas to ensure a welcoming environment.
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
• Assist with inventory management by filling out prep and par sheets.
• Have a collaborative mindset with coworkers and guests.
• Continue education and bring ideas to the table.

Qualifications

• Barista experience required for lead barista role(obviously). On site interview will include a test portion.
• Barista Experience preferred but not required for cafe professional positions.
• MAST 12 and Spokane County food handler's card required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting boxes or moving equipment as needed.
