Position: Custodian, 2nd shift Sunday-Thursday
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Custodian to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of various areas within our facility. As part of your responsibilities, you will maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in spaces such as restrooms, hallways, dining areas, conference rooms, and more. In addition to routine cleaning tasks, you will also be responsible for specific maintenance duties, including pool care, carpet cleaning, and floor waxing. While prior custodial experience is appreciated, we are willing to train candidates who are eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular cleaning duties in high-traffic areas including restrooms, hallways, dining spaces, offices, and common areas. Maintain and clean carpeted areas, including vacuuming, spot cleaning, and occasional deep cleaning. Wax and buff floors to ensure they are polished and safe for residents and visitors. Regularly prepare conference rooms for meetings, ensuring they are organized, clean, and set up with necessary supplies. Take responsibility for the maintenance of the swimming pool area, ensuring the water is clean, safe, and properly treated. Assist residents with minor maintenance requests, such as unclogging toilets or addressing other immediate repair needs. Respond to unexpected situations or emergencies, using sound judgment and a proactive approach to resolve issues. Work independently while adhering to facility policies and maintaining a strong focus on safety and cleanliness. Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are maintained in good condition and report any necessary repairs or replacements.

Physical Demands:
Ability to carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform manual labor tasks. The role requires bending, kneeling, standing, and walking for extended periods. Ability to use various cleaning tools, including vacuums, mops, chemicals and floor buffers.
Qualifications:
- Prior custodial experience is preferred, with the ability to provide solid work references.
- Experience working with or willingness to learn how to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
- A valid Driver's License is required to assist with tasks that may involve transport or off-site or on campus responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently, displaying good judgment and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A strong work ethic and the physical capability to perform tasks, including heavy lifting, bending, carrying, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working in a team environment with a positive attitude, as well as a genuine passion for helping seniors and providing excellent service.
- Must be able to respond to urgent needs and provide assistance in a timely, courteous manner.
