What is the Taylor County SATF?
Taylor County Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF) is a 60-bed male residential drug treatment facility operated by the Taylor County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD). The SATF serves individuals on probation with substance abuse issues who are ordered by the judge to complete the treatment program as part of their probation sentence. It is a nine-month program. Residents spend the first six months attending treatment groups/classes and the last three months participating in an employment program.
What does a Residential Monitor do?
The Residential Monitor is responsible for overseeing the activities and behaviors of residents at the SATF. They hold residents accountable for their behaviors and play a crucial role in maintaining the safety of the residents and the security of the facility. In essence, they are in charge, ensuring that residents are following the rules and completing their tasks. What is required?
A high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and proof of liability insurance are required. Applicants should be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, possess skills in first aid, recordkeeping, and leadership and have the proven ability to manage people. A background in corrections is not necessarily required. Any experience managing people, especially those in a high-risk population, would be qualifying.
What is the schedule?
Residential Monitors work 12-hour shifts, alternating 3 days one week and 4 days the next. The shifts are designed as follows:
- Day Shift A works Sun, Mon, Tues, and alternating Wed from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.**HIRING**
- Night Shift A works Sun, Mon, Tues, and alternating Wed from 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.**NO VACANCIES**
- Swing Shift A works Sun, Mon, Tues, and alternating Wed from 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.**NO VACANCIES**
- Day Shift B works alternating Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.**NO VACANCIES**
- Night Shift B works alternating Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat from 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.**NO VACANCIES**
- Swing Shift B works alternating Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat from 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.**HIRING**

$43,000/annually paid twice a month
