What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corrections Officer position at Taylor County Texas Government?
Taylor County is currently seeking qualified applicants for both Male & Female Corrections Officers at the Taylor County Jail.
This is a pooling listing. All positions are currently filled; however, applications are continually received in order to backfill any positions as they become available.
All qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must have the ability to work in a very stressful environment and have a good moral character.
Applicants must be in good physical shape and must pass a physical exam and drug screening prior to employment.
Qualified applicants will also be subject to an extensive criminal history and background investigation.
Must be a U.S. citizen and have a valid Driver License.

Starting Salary: $53,015.36 per year benefits
: 100% county-paid employee medical and dental insurance, paid life and disability insurance, retirement, and paid vacation/sick time.
Paper applications will also be accepted in the Human Resources/Risk Management Office, Taylor County Plaza, 400 Oak Street, Suite 120, until the position is filled. HR office hours are 7:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Thursday and 7:30 am – 12:00 pm Friday. The HR office is closed at 12:00 pm for the day each Friday.
