Roll-Off Driver

Job Purpose : County Waste Service in Abilene, TX, is currently seeking applications for the Roll Off Driver position. We are accepting applicants with CDL (Commercial Driver's License) qualifications. If you are a reliable and safety-conscious individual with a passion for serving the community, this is a great opportunity to join our team.Job Type : Full-time Pay : $17.00 - $25.00 per hourExpected hours : 40 - 60 per weekDuties and Responsibilities : Operating Roll Off trucks to transport waste materials from residential, commercial, and industrial sites to designated disposal or recycling facilities.Safely driving and maneuvering Roll Off trucks on roads, highways, and construction sites in compliance with traffic regulations and company policies.Conducting pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safe and efficient operation, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and other components.Assisting in the loading and unloading of Roll Off containers using hydraulic hoists and / or electric winch systems.Securing loads properly to prevent spills, leaks, and other hazardous situations during transportation.Interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their inquiries and providing assistance as needed.Maintaining accurate records of daily activities, including disposal tickets, fuel receipts, and maintenance needed / performed on the vehicle.Following all safety guidelines and protocols to minimize accidents, injuries, and property damage.Reporting any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues to the supervisor promptly.Adhering to established schedules and ensuring timely completion of assigned routes.QualificationsApplicants must have a minimum of a Class B CDL (Commercial Driver License).Excellent driving record with a minimum of 3 years of experience operating commercial vehicles.High school diploma or equivalent.Good physical stamina, ability to climb, and lift heavy objects.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Exceptional customer service skills and a professional demeanor.Ability to adapt to changing work demands and work in various weather conditions.Willingness to comply with drug and alcohol testing policies as required by law and company policies.Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).Benefits : Employee health benefits, paid time off, paid sick leave as well as competitive pay.401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance
