Job Description:
Taylor Diversion Programs in Sheffield, PA is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School MusicTeacher to join our academic team. Our Music Teacher will be responsible for instructing students in a variety of music-related subjects, including vocal and instrumental music, music theory, and music appreciation. The teacher will foster a positive learning environment, encouraging students to develop their musical skills and understanding of music across various genres and cultures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction:
- Teach individual and group lessons in various music subjects, including band, choir, orchestra, music theory, and music history.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Provide instruction in both practical performance and theoretical aspects of music.
- Performance:
- Plan, organize, and direct school performances, including concerts, recitals, and other music-related events.
- Coordinate with other faculty, students, and the community to ensure the success of music programs.
- Assessment:
- Evaluate and assess students’ progress and skills through observations, testing, performances, and projects.
- Provide constructive feedback and encourage continuous improvement in students' musical development.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other teachers and school staff to integrate music education into other subjects and school activities.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Manage and care for musical instruments and other teaching resources.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with new music education trends, techniques, and curriculum changes.
- Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and training as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Music Education
- Proficiency in one or more musical instruments (vocal, piano, strings, brass, etc.)..
- Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and helping students grow musically.
Skills:
- Ability to inspire and engage students in music education.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Ability to collaborate with other teachers and school administration.
- Knowledge of a variety of musical genres and teaching methods.
- Ability to direct music groups and organize performances.
Working Conditions:

Salary Range: $36,000 - $50,000/year
