Position Overview:
Taylor Diversion Programs is seeking a dynamic and skilled High School Vocational Education Teacher with expertise in Woodworking, Carpentry and Electricity.. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hands-on learning, capable of delivering engaging lessons, and committed to preparing students for careers in skilled trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum in Woodworking, Carpentry and Electrical systems.
- Teach students practical skills, safety procedures, and theoretical knowledge related to carpentry, electrical circuits, and construction techniques.
- Create lesson plans that align with state educational standards and vocational competencies.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain and manage classroom tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Assess student progress through projects, practical assessments, and written evaluations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students pursuing careers in skilled trades.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and industry professionals to enhance the vocational program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Education, Industrial Arts, Technology Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Vocational Education
- Proven experience in woodworking, carpentry, and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate high school students.
Salary: $36,000 - $50,000/year
