An ideal Fiber Technician is able to construct and install fiber line to bring high-speed internet to the membership. This position requires the ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues and respond to outages. A significant portion of this position requires working with internal personnel as well as external contractors. Member satisfaction and safety are a top priority for this position; on-the-job training will be provided.
This is an on-call position where one must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays, as well as, handle high stress situations.
Work Hours/Conditions
- Work regularly scheduled hours, although weekends, evenings and holidays may be required.
- Work mainly takes place in an outdoor environment which may lead to exposure to extreme heat and humidity as well as extreme cold.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associates degree in any field preferred.
Certification/Requirements
- Must possess a current Texas driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record.
- Must be able to complete and pass CPR and First Aid training.
- Must have willingness and ability to obtain fiber installation knowledge and education.
