What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permit Coordinator position at Taylor Heating & A/C?
Taylor Heating and AC (Part of the Gene Johnson Family) is seeking a Permit Coordinator to support our dynamic team. The Permit Coordinator is responsible for managing and ensuring the timely submission, approval, and compliance of permits related to HVAC and electrical projects. This role involves reviewing project plans, coordinating with regulatory authorities, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate, and keeping track of permit deadlines to avoid project delays.
Responsibilities:
Own permit acquisition process for HVAC and electrical projects; researching, preparing, and submitting applications for various permits, licenses, and approvals in a timely manner
Partner with service managers and field personnel to ensure compliance
Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed promptly
Maintain permit tracking system relating to site plan applications, approvals, licenses, permits, registrations, and status of applications and renewals.
Stay updated on changes in building codes, HVAC, and electrical regulations.
Address any permit-related issues or discrepancies that arise.
Adhere to and implement the company’s core values.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Bonus if you have permitting experience
Bonus if you have prior experience working in electrical, HVAC, plumbing or other trades
Benefits and Compensation:
Compensation: $26 - $30 per/hr

Physical Demands:
Stand/Sit: Must be able to remain in stationary position 50% of the time
May be required to bend, climb (Stairs/Ladders), do repetitive motion, kneel, reach, squat, stand, crawl, walk, and run
May be required to drive and sit for long periods of time
May be required to maneuver up to 25 lb. by lifting, carrying or pushing
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) frequently
Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
