Taylor House, A ThriveMore of NC Community is currently seeking a PRN (as needed) Housekeeper and Cook, to assist in our Assisted Living Community located in Albemarle, NC. This person will be crossed trained and utilized where most needed.
Responsibilities: HOUSEKEEPING
- Clean all bathrooms, including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories and fixtures in apartment and common areas
- Vacuum carpeted areas and mop tile floors
- Spot clean walls and windows
- Dust furniture and empty trash cans
- Clean baseboards, pictures, lights and HVAC Vents
- Honor any additional housekeeping request made by the residents during the allotted time
- Assist with picking up trash
- Assist with activity room set-ups, will require movement of furniture
- Report any pertinent information to management directly related to the well-being of the resident
- Perform any additional housekeeping tasks as necessary
Responsibilities: COOK
- Review menu, assembles food supplies and equipment for daily food production following instructions and assignment by lead cook or supervisor.
- *Follows recipe and other production information to complete preparation of assigned menu items.
- *Reads menu to determine food requirements and procedures food from storage.
- Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.
- *Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
- *Observes and tests food being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork to determine that it is cooked according to standard recipe.
Qualifications: HOUSEKEEPING
- At least one year of housekeeping experience, required
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Must be able to speak and understand English in order to communicate with supervisors and residents
Qualifications: COOK
- *Prior experience as cook or in food preparation.
- *Ability to read and follow recipes and food production records.
- *Must be 18 years of age or above.
- *Must be able to use the English language to satisfy the communications and record keeping requirements involved in the performance of this job position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must maintain neat, well-groomed appearance adhering to dress code of the facility,
- Must satisfy all established licensing and certification requirements applicable to this job position.
- *Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions without harm to self or others with or without reasonable accommodation.
- *Must comply with facility’s drug testing and substance abuse program and policies.
Schedule:
- Open Availability is a MUST!! From 6:30am-7pm on either 1st or 2nd shift
- Weekend availability
