What We Are Looking For:
The Taylor International team is seeking an Accounting Specialist with proven experience and a strong commitment to customer service.
The Accounting Specialist will be pivotal in supporting the Controller by managing key financial and administrative tasks and ensuring accuracy and compliance in project budgets, contracts, and documentation. This position is essential for maintaining smooth financial operations, coordinating with subcontractors, and upholding regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the company’s construction projects.
The Accounting Specialist also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of Taylor International.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with the financial team to develop and maintain project budgets.
- Track and report on budget variances.
- Assist in reviewing and managing construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Handle change orders, including documentation, approvals, and tracking.
- Prepare and process pay applications, verifying accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and manage subcontract accounts.
- Verify and maintain up-to-date insurance certificates for all stakeholders, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.
- Maintain records of labor rates and related documentation and assist in labor cost tracking.
- Complete and manage State of Nevada forms and regulatory paperwork, ensuring adherence to state regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support accounting and administrative functions.
What You Need:
- 5 years of experience in accounting, administrative support, or a related role, preferably in the construction industry
- 1- 3 years of Procore experience; Procore certification preferred
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, change orders, and pay applications.
- Familiarity with insurance compliance, labor rates, and cost tracking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Knowledge of State of Nevada regulatory requirements and union documentation is a plus.
