Plasma Operator

Summary:

• Taylor Manufacturing is located in 224 Adams St., Stevenson, Alabama. Since 1983 we have taken pride in our work and employee’s. We are actively looking for a plasma operator that is a team player with a positive attitude, who will focus on quality, efficiency and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operating machine controls and setting offsets.
• Studying and interpreting drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations.
• Inspect completed work for quality standards and conformance requirements.
• Ensure production rates are met and/or exceeded.
• Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep to machine and work station.
• Loading/unloading material by crane from machines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematic skills required.
• High energy level required.
• Ability to read blue prints.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (i.e.: calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.).
• Basic computer knowledge necessary.
• Previous operation of CNC, Plasma and Laser Machines a plus.
• Must be able to drive a forklift.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Full time shop exposure.
• Extreme temperatures. (Sometimes due to season)
• Perform work standing up for 8-12 hours per day.
• Be prepared to work mandatory overtime 6 or 7 days a week.
• Good vision, hearing, smell and balance.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly and climb ladders.

Experience:

• Must have experience operating Plasma.
