This position requires a self-driven, professional individual to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and secretarial tasks. This person needs to be highly dependable, trustworthy and enjoy working with others. Some tasks the applicant will be asked to perform include (but aren't limited to):
- Greet and assist clients in person and on the phone
- Perform bookkeeping tasks such as coding checks, making journal entries, and reconciling bank accounts
- Run payroll for various clients, with multiple types of deductions
- Calculate and remit payroll taxes
- Prepare Sales and Payroll Tax Returns
- Provide assistance and support to accountants
- Process income tax returns and various tax forms
Skills needed to perform the job include:
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Talent for spotting numerical mistakes
- Accounting knowledge of debit and credits
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Well organized
- Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook and accounting software (QuickBooks knowledge is a plus)
- Have excellent written and communication skills
- Team player
- People Oriented
- Self-Starter with the ability to think independently and exercise sound judgement
- Handle multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
This job position will be a full-time position from December through April and will drop back to part-time from May to November. May be ideal for those who enjoy their summer hours outdoors! Pay will be determined depending on applicants level of experience. A retirement plan is available after a waiting period.
