Job Summary
The Accounting Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timeliness in maintaining cash applications, general ledger activity, accounts payable and accounts receivable aging, inventory maintenance in the ERP system, and inventory reconciliation. This position requires strong attention to detail and proficiency in ERP and ETRM systems, for handling various journal entries, reconciling variances, and posting sales and purchases.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Maintain and update inventory records, specifically focusing on in-transit items, blending, and bookouts.
Inventory Reconciliation: Reconcile variances between internal records and external statements to ensure data accuracy.
General Ledger Reconciliation: Work with Internal Reporting Manager to reconcile general ledger accounts for Supply and Trading business.
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Aging: Weekly and monthly review of AP and AR aging to clear prepayments and past due aging.
Ethanol Purchases: Enter and manage ethanol purchases in Ascend to maintain accurate records.
Journal Entries: Perform various journal entries as requested to support the accounting team and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Reporting Comparison and Analysis: Prepare preliminary reporting for comparison to Middle Office reporting and for review by management prior to final reporting generation.
Skills and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in an accounts payable/receivable role, preferably in the energy or oil & gas industry. New
Technical Skills: Proficiency in an ERP system such as Dynamics or SAP is required; proficiency in RightAngle or similar ETRM system strongly preferred. Intermediate or higher level of efficiency in Excel is required.
Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial transactions.
Analytical Skills: Ability to problem-solve complex issues, reconcile variances, and handle multifaceted transactions effectively.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective internal and external collaboration.
Additional Requirements

Experience in oil and gas or related industry required.
