Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering operations for our facilities. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and functionality of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing technical expertise for all engineering and maintenance-related activities.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Management :
Oversee and supervise the engineering and maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of building systems.
Lead engineering projects and initiatives aimed at improving building operations and energy efficiency.
Building Systems & Operations Management :
Ensure all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarms, and elevators, are fully operational, safe, and compliant with industry standards.
Coordinate and manage all maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repairs for both planned and emergency work.
Develop and manage emergency preparedness plans, including overseeing fire and safety drills and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Vendor & Contract Management :
Manage relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Oversee the procurement of parts, materials, and equipment required for repairs and maintenance.
Review and approve contracts, ensuring all work is completed to specifications and within budget.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a senior engineering role, preferably within facilities management or commercial real estate.
Proven experience in managing engineering teams and leading projects.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
