Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. In this critical role, you will coordinate technician schedules for service, preventative maintenance, and installation of commercial foodservice equipment, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery. You will utilize software management systems to optimize routes, manage schedules, and maintain clear communication with both technicians and clients. Strong organizational skills, along with effective phone etiquette, are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Receive Service Calls: Act as the primary point of contact for receiving service calls from customers via phone, text, or email. You will log, prioritize, and appropriately dispatch these requests to the relevant technicians.
- Dispatch Technicians: Plan and assign technicians to jobs in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring they are properly scheduled for each task.
- Manage Rewrites: Oversee the logistics of "rewrites"—situations where parts required for a job are unavailable on the technician's truck and must be ordered—ensuring technicians can complete their tasks as quickly as possible.
- Warranty Parts Management: Assist in the return of warranty parts, ensuring all processes are followed and that faulty or replaced parts are returned according to warranty guidelines.
- Plan PM Schedules: Plan and dispatch Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules, ensuring that all PMs are performed on time and that technicians are properly prepared.
- Manage Truck Inventory (Min/Max Levels): Monitor and manage truck inventory, ensuring that minimum/maximum inventory guidelines are met, avoiding shortages or excess parts.
- Manage Truck Maintenance and Repairs: Ensure that preventative maintenance is conducted on service trucks and oversee any necessary repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
Experience
- Previous experience in planning, logistics, or dispatching is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to assess transportation needs and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with team members and clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
