Position Description
This is a full-time position, Monday Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. The focus of the Quality Assurance Supervisor will be organizing the QA team and maintaining the QA program. The QA Team Lead will report directly to the Director of Processing.
Areas of responsibility
- Create daily QA checklist and organize QA team.
- Conduct regular QC checks on product, wet storage water, and wastewater.
- Investigate customer complaints.
- Monitor all HACCP critical limits.
- Monitor GMPs in all production areas.
- Communicate QC issues to plant managers.
- Maintain all product testing policies.
- Lead intercompany product testing programs.
- Maintain microbiological testing program.
- Conduct glass and brittle plastic inspections.
- Be up to date with shellfish regulatory requirements.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Familiar with excel and other Microsoft programs.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Basic math and science skills.
- Able to work alone for extended periods of time or with a team.
- Good understanding of basic food safety and sanitation preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
- Be able to stand or walk on uneven ground.
- Be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Be able to squat, bend, kneel and twist.
- Be able to lift more than 50 pounds.
- Be able to use hands for fine manipulation and simple grasping, pushing, and pulling.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers.
