Mechanical / Piping Engineering Section Chief
LOCATION : Anchorage, AK
FSLA : Exempt
SUMMARY :
The Mechanical / Piping Engineering Section Chief is responsible for the supervision and direction of a team of 20-40 engineers and designers. Responsibilities also include providing qualified staff members, technological expertise and tools, procedures, and appropriate technical stewardship to deliver projects and services.
Responsibilities :
- Represent and embody Company Core Values and Code of Conduct to staff, clients, and the community.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Mechanical / Piping section.
- Collaboration and partnership with Manager of Engineering, other Engineering Department leadership and staff, Senior Management, and management of other departments and units, in order to identify and meet Company objectives.
- Compose, review, and recommend policies, procedures, and practices as required to meet Engineering Department objectives.
- Development and stewardship of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Steward technical integrity and quality of deliverables.
- Support and maintain training, development, and mentoring of staff.
- Provide guidance and direction for quality reviews by Responsible Members.
- Periodic review and update of discipline engineering procedures in coordination with the Manager of Engineering and Professional Engineer(s) responsible for the practice of discipline specific engineering by Company.
