What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Athletic Trainer position at Taylor University?
The Athletic Trainer fills an integral part of the Taylor University athletic department. Responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer, the Athletic Trainer will aid evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Responsibilities
• Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University’s Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
• Oversee medical care of athletic teams as assigned by head athletic trainer.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Support an environment consistent with the values of Taylor University and the Athletic Department that enables achievement of a quality, competitive sports program, and supports the educational goals of individual student-athletes.
• Work directly with the team physician for the evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
• Refer athletes to appropriate medical specialists when necessary.
• Communicate daily with coaches regarding injuries, safety, and other medical issues.
• Provide support for summer athletic camps.
• Represent Taylor University and the athletic department to various institutional programs and externally, as appropriate.
• Protect the integrity of Taylor University by ensuring program compliance with university policy, conference rules, and NAIA guidelines.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, BOC Certification, and Indiana state licensure required.
• Two years’ experience in practicing athletic training required.
• CPR certification required.
