Position Overview:
We are seeking a Bakery Operations Manager to oversee and ensure the smooth daily operations of our bakery. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, handling retail staffing and training, managing next-day production and deliveries, and ensuring that all aspects of the bakery run efficiently. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can resolve customer issues, support staff development, and maintain a high standard of operations while keeping our customers happy—both in-store and online.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Service & Retail Operations
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and quickly resolving issues.
- Act as the main point of contact for customer inquiries and complaints, handling them with professionalism and efficiency.
- Monitor the retail floor to ensure staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging with customers.
- Handle customer follow-ups via social media, email, and phone to ensure concerns are addressed promptly.
- Oversee store cleanliness, merchandising, and product presentation to maintain brand standards.
Staffing & Training
- Manage retail staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Train and coach retail and bakery staff on best practices for customer service, product knowledge, and operational efficiency.
- Provide ongoing training and performance feedback to ensure team members are meeting expectations.
Production & Delivery Management
- Work with the bakery production team to ensure that the next day's baked goods are properly planned and produced on schedule.
- Schedule and coordinate next-day deliveries, ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered on time.
- Address any inventory or supply issues that could impact production and work with the team to resolve them.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure that the bakery is operating smoothly at all times during business hours.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, from equipment malfunctions to workflow inefficiencies.
- Communicate regularly with the bakery team, decorators, and retail staff to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Monitor and enforce health & safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2 years of experience in a retail, food service, or bakery operations role.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in staff supervision and training.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience handling social media and email customer inquiries is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with scheduling, production planning, or order fulfillment is a plus.
Work Schedule & Expectations:
- Tuesday – Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM
- This is an on-site position that requires active involvement in day-to-day operations.
- Must be comfortable standing for long periods and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.
