POSITION TITLE: Teacher - Special Education, Autism for the 2025-2026 School Year
LOCATION(S): Taylorsville ES
START DATE: July 23, 2025
JOB DESCRIPTION: Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students in the classroom. Plan and implement effective lessons, using time, materials and resources effectively. Display a thorough knowledge of special education curriculum. Demonstrate awareness of the needs of students and provide for individual differences. Support the philosophy and mission of the Bartow County School System. Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: Must hold or be eligible for a valid clear renewable Georgia teaching certificate in Special Education Adaptive Curriculum (P-12) and all content areas (P-8).
SKILLS: Training in special needs of disabled population, including first aid and controlling behavior. Physical demands - must be able to stand and walk a minimum of six hours; lift, carry, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability and knowledge to effectively teach special education.
EXPERIENCE: Previous teaching experience working in a special education classroom preferred.
