What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook- Part Time position at TBD?
POSITION SUMMARY: This part-time position is primarily responsible for preparing food for the students and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Uses all kitchen equipment in a safe, proper, and efficient way.
- Maintains the highest standards of safety, food safety, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Serves all students in an efficient, food safe and hospitable manner. Ensures the appropriate portion size to meet state requirements.
- Follow all food safety guidelines. Shows proper use of thermometers to ensure all foods are served at a safe food temperature.
- Prepares food according to a planned menu and recipes.
- Ensures finished product is of the best quality both in flavor and appearance before it is served.
- Accurately completes a daily production record.
- Reports to the kitchen manager any faulty or inferior quality food received
- Assists in the unloading and putting away of all food deliveries.
- Completes daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, and facilities to include sweeping & mopping.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Previous experience working in the food industry is preferred.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students
- Excellent organizational, time management and mult-tasking skills
- Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
- Must be able to stoop and bend over.
- Must be able to reach overhead.
- Must be able to read labels, instructions and follow recipes.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- 9 month position, Part Time
- Reports to Director of Food Services
- Non-exempt
Salary : $15 - $17
