TBest Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our client's team in Elkridge, MD. The Quality Inspector will conduct visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections of parts, subassemblies, printed circuit boards, completed assemblies, production processes, final inspections, and acceptance tests. This role involves both in-process inspections during assembly and participation in establishing quality control standards and inspection criteria for final products. The Quality Inspector will also evaluate engineering drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect electrical cable and harness assemblies.
- Pass a baseline inspection assessment and obtain IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification for evaluating electronic/electrical products.
- Perform visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections of components, subassemblies, completed assemblies, cables, and printed circuit boards.
- Develop or assist in creating inspection manuals, process descriptions, and work instructions.
- Work from technical documentation, such as drawings, wiring diagrams, engineering orders, and work orders.
- Assess test and inspection results to identify non-conformance causes.
- Use tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, Hi-Pot testers, multimeters, continuity testers, and microscopes for measurements and verifications.
- Review production drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
- Maintain necessary quality records, including test data and inspection documentation.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, vendors, and customers to address inspection-related issues.
- Support quality assurance activities by identifying deficiencies in inspection and inventory.
- Assist Quality Engineering with quality assurance tasks.
- Refine existing fixtures, test equipment, processes, and implement changes as needed.
- Estimate inspection time for customer proposals.
- Ensure a safe working environment and take necessary actions to stop work when unsafe conditions are identified.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Relevant computer skills.
- Knowledge of quality systems.
- Previous experience in electronics inspection.
- Technical training (minimum 1 year) from a vocational school, military, or accredited institution, or equivalent experience (at least 2 years in the industry).
