We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to effectively negotiate contracts and control costs. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of project estimates and contributing to the overall success of our construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate and competitive bids for commercial construction projects
- Receiving, distributing, logging and maintaining invitations to bid, plans, RFIs, addendums and other bid documents
- Gather and analyze project information, including specifications, drawings and site conditions to prepare take offs, materials and labor estimates.
- Develop cost estimates based on historical data, market conditions and other factors
- Review proposed design changes and prepare estimates within appropriate accuracy levels
- Asses cost effectiveness of alternate products and value engineering ideas
- Communicate directly with subcontractors, architects, engineers and owners
- Assist in development of schedules for various projects
- Manage the change order process
Qualifications
- Must have experience with a Commercial General Contractor on retail, restaurant, and/or office building projects.
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience.
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid, along with advanced skills in Bluebeam for digital take-offs.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills, capable of achieving favorable contract terms while maintaining positive relationships.
- Solid understanding of cost control measures and their application in construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all estimates produced.
Pay: $125,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
