The Bachrach Group is partnered with one of Houston's premier capital investment firms on their search for an ACCOUNTANT. The role is a developmental opportunity that will provide frequent interactions with a team of skilled accounting professionals. Applicants with prior experience working in the financial services sector, specifically in private equity funds or partnership accounting, are highly desirable for the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reconcile all bank accounts and book the initial journal entries for publicly traded funds.
- Assist with quarterly financial statement preparation for a few SEC filers.
- Assist in monthly operational reporting for the funds.
- Handle daily cash activities and account reconciliations.
- Manage and record all accounting matters for investments.
- Perform routine accounting functions including reviewing and approving invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly invoices, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor financial covenants contained in debt agreements.
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning, as needed.
- Liaison with a third-party preparer to support the preparation of annual tax returns.
- Coordinate external audit schedule preparation and interact with auditors.
- Improve the existing systems of accounting and reporting.
- Maintain responsibility and accountability for various job duties, responsibilities, and other ad hoc projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- A master’s degree is a major plus.
- A GPA of 3.5 or above in undergraduate and/or a graduate program is preferred.
- An active CPA license or parts passed towards completing the exam are preferred.
- At least 1 years of prior experience working in external audit for a “Big 4” public accounting firm is a plus.
- Prior exposure to private equity funds or partnership accounting is a plus; SEC or investment company reporting experience is also a plus.
- Advanced skills in utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
- A high level of proficiency in Excel is required.
- Prior working knowledge utilizing NetSuite software is a plus.
- Must have a high level of integrity, possess good communication and organizational skills, and be a multitasker with a diligent work ethic.

Location: Galleria area (I-10 and San Felipe)
Schedule: ONSITE for first 90 days, possibility of WFH 2 days per week after the training period.
Salary range: $70,000 to $75,000 (eligible for bonus)
