This position offers significant opportunities for growth and visibility, reporting directly to both the Director of Finance and the Chief Operating Officer, with potential exposure to firm partners. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in an accounting role at an investment firm or an accounting firm servicing investment management clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CFO and Director of Finance to prepare financial reports.
- Review quarterly and annual fund financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, including trial balances, investor allocations, and capital account statements.
- Calculate fund-level returns and underlying investment returns.
- Prepare return and attribution analyses for current and potential investors.
- Coordinate and review fund administrator processes and workpapers.
- Liaise with third-party tax firms for the preparation of K-1s.
- Draft portfolio company valuation memos in accordance with ASC 820.
- Produce PCAPs for investors in conjunction with the fund administrator.
- Work alongside the Chief Operating Officer on fund operations.
- Respond to limited partner (LP) requests and inquiries.
- Coordinate investor capital calls, including preparation of notices and monitoring of transactions.
- Manage the investor relations portal and distribute K-1s and financial statements.
- Report fund performance data to various index and research firms.
- Manage the investor CRM system.
- Handle government agency filings, including new entity formation and related legal documentation.
- Implement and manage new software solutions.
- Oversee the custody of digital assets.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in private equity/venture capital fund accounting, fund administration, or at an accounting firm servicing financial services clients.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience documenting and supporting workpapers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience in venture capital accounting operations.
- Experience working with fund administrators or at a fund administration firm.
- Financial operations or compliance experience at a broker-dealer.
- Interest or experience in investing, blockchain, or crypto.
Salary : $140,000 - $170,000
