Job Description:
They are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Insurance Defense Attorney who has successfully passed the New York State Bar and is eager to gain hands-on litigation experience. This role offers an opportunity to be actively involved in all phases of the litigation process, from initial investigation through trial and appeal.
Responsibilities:
- Appear in court for motions, hearings, depositions, and trials.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research to support case strategy and client advocacy.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and insurance carriers.
- Prepare and draft status reports for clients and insurance adjusters.
- Analyze and interpret legal data, laws, statutes, legal codes, and precedents.
- Serve as the client’s advocate, making recommendations in their best interest.
- Summarize case facts and develop strategic approaches to litigation.
- Evaluate and negotiate settlements where appropriate.
- Participate in all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation and appellate work.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Must have passed the NY Bar, but can be pending admission.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in handling litigation from case inception through resolution.
