About the Opportunity

Do you want to play a pivotal role in advancing clean energy solutions and addressing climate challenges? As an Energy Programs Coordinator through the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll directly contribute to Central Coast Community Energy’s impactful initiatives while gaining valuable experience in sustainability and energy innovation. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work 2 days remotely and 3 days onsite each week.

The Energy Program Coordinator will perform research, solicit community feedback, and conduct analysis to develop and manage energy program activities. The Fellow will work under the general supervision of the Manager of Energy Programs and collaborate closely with other Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) teams and external consultants to support in the implementation of 3CE’s energy programs. The Energy Programs team is responsible for carrying out programs aimed at transportation electrification, building electrification, distributed energy resources, and community resiliency. This is a great opportunity to directly make an impact on the Central Coast community through administering and improving incentive programs that support customers’ clean energy transition.

  • Demand Response Pilot

What You’ll Do

  • Identifies trends, technology, and customer value to support program development and design recommendations.
  • Collaborates with 3CE department teams and outside consultants on energy program development, and assist in the design, assist in analysis, and implementation.
  • Provides support in developing web-based tools to drive customer program participation.
  • Assists in tracking and reports program success through metrics, analytics, customer relationship management tools, and other program tracking tools.
  • May be asked to deliver presentations to various community groups and local organizations.
  • May participate and interact with members of the public to distribute information about 3CE programs.
  • Identifies complementary program funding opportunities.
  • What We’re Looking For

  • Willingness to learn the basics in transportation electrification, building electrification, battery storage systems, or other clean energy initiatives.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex data; reach conclusions, make recommendations, and develop reports and presentations.
  • Team player who can demonstrate prior examples of teamwork and collaboration.
  • A college degree is preferred but not required.
  • The ability to work onsite on a hybrid basis (3 days per week).
  • Coursework or related experience in environmental fields (e.g., internships, volunteer work) is preferred.
  • A demonstrated commitment to addressing racism and advancing racial equity, both within team dynamics and programmatically.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).
  • May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.
