About the opportunity :
The Clinical Informatics Manager is primarily responsible for developing and managing clinical informatics plans to contribute to Vail Health’s (VH) shared organizational vision of clinical, quality, regulatory and financial outcomes through the education, configuration and maintenance of the clinical application systems. This includes use and usability of systems to collect, aggregate and report clinical, quality and regulatory data and the implementation, education and training of systems to achieve outcomes, efficiency, regulatory requirements and ultimately advance quality care using technology. This position manages the Clinical Informatics Team.
What you will do :
- Promotes strategic direction of organization through use of clinical technology.
- Relationship builder between key stakeholders and departments, i.e. Nursing, Medicine, Quality and IT. Provides representation on related committees.
- Consultant in the analysis of requested complex enhancements to the EMRs and other clinical applications, impacting single, multiple departments and facilities throughout the enterprise.
- Translates impact of public-policy initiatives including new care delivery and payment models into informatics practice.
- Conducts multidisciplinary feasibility assessments to identify potential areas of system optimizations. Includes analysis of the current practice and process, technical options and potential impact of solution options on workflow.
- Oversight of clinical workflow issues within the EHR; provide diagnosis of application errors and troubleshooting of systems issues.
- Design and implement educational and clinical services programs, support end-user training including onboarding of physician and nursing staff.
- Engage stakeholders to facilitate adoption of systems and processes; matter expert of solution roadmaps and optimization opportunities.
- Leads and facilitates transformation of data leading to improvements in business, process, financial outcomes, care delivery, patient safety and / or use and usability (Lights On, DA2, CCL reports, etc.)
- Assume on-call duties for user support on a rotating schedule per established support framework.
- Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
