What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director, Renal Genetics position at Tbwa Chiat/Day Inc?
Location : Remote role based in United States
The Medical Director, Renal Genetics is a part of the Organ Health Medical Affairs business unit and is in a critical leadership role to drive Natera’s success with integrating renal genetics into the routine medical care of patients with kidney disease including those who are kidney transplant candidates and recipients.
Major Responsibilities
- Educate general nephrologists and transplant nephrologists regarding renal genetics, renasight and Natera’s transplant and kidney health products.
- Develop and nurture guideline and other top tier key opinion leader relationships.
- Foster relationships with KOLs at meetings and in office settings regarding the utility of renasight / renal genetics.
- Speak at (inter)national symposia regarding renal genetics.
- Organize / drive content for renal genetics scientific advisory board.
- Drive the scientific roadmap for renal genetics at Natera for product adoption and inclusion into guidelines.
- Drive publication of key manuscripts / abstracts.
- Draft manuscripts / abstracts with the cross-functional team (Sci Comm, Translational research, Clin ops).
- Facilitate quality Investigator-initiated trials.
- Recruit industry-leading PIs and clinical sites to participate in clinical studies, meeting budget and timeline requirements in collaboration with Clinical Trial Operations department and Senior Director of Kidney Health.
- Provide clinical expertise in clinical study design and other areas of innovation for R&D.
- Partner with commercial / marketing to drive the commercialization strategy for renal genetics in the nephrology and transplant community.
- Work with cross-functional team to determine clinical operations for renasight : clinical interpretation of test results, customer support for physicians, advise on pre-and post-test counseling for patients.
- Drive medical education efforts to support growth of our kidney health product portfolio by teaching the community how to use the tests.
- Advise on product development for our testing portfolio : identify clinical unmet needs, new product opportunities, critical product features, product intended use, design and content of test reports, and minimum validation studies.
- Partner with BD regarding pharma partnerships.
- This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job.
- Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA / PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training, and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire. Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements. Employee must pass post-offer criminal background check.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
