Position Overview :
Zynga is looking for a server-side engineer in the Austin, Bay Area, Chicago, or Toronto areas, specifically someone with experience equivalent to a Senior Software Engineer.
We have a well-rounded and tight-knit, distributed team, and are looking for a self-driven and motivated engineer who is a strong communicator, works well as a team player, and performs well under tight deadlines.
The candidate will have the opportunity to design and build core gameplay systems and modernize legacy systems, primarily working in a PHP-based technology stack.
The ideal candidate will have strong software design skills, capable of owning feature work throughout the entire development pipeline, and has at least three years of experience working on mobile games or live service software.
What You'll Do :
- Help to architect and develop gameplay features, working alongside client-side team members
- Responsible for scoping and estimating tasks
- Dive into the internals of existing systems to extend them as needed
- Develop and integrate new technologies & SDKs
- Help to develop tools for content creators, product managers, and live-ops managers
- Help support and triage deployments and live-ops issues
- Mentor other engineers in core language and software development best practices
