This position offers a unique opportunity to directly develop and architect our technical solutions, laying a solid foundation for our platform, products, and future team. You will be hands-on in building a world-class Engineering function, tailored to support rapid scaling and the complexities of healthcare information, AI, and benefits technology.This role will report directly to Sounder’s CEO and be able to work remotely.What you’ll do : Serve as the lead Engineer and Technical Architect for all product and platform development, personally undertaking managing software design and coding.Drive the creation of the engineering department’s vision, goals, and strategies, ensuring they are perfectly aligned with the company's overarching mission.Personally develop and implement crucial components of our software, ensuring high efficiency, scalability, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, SOC2 Compliance, and State-level information laws.Establish and manage our development, testing, and production environments, selecting optimal tools and technologies to meet both current and future needs.Engage directly with Sales, Brokerage Operations, and the executive team to define detailed product specifications and transform these into functional, high-quality software.Strategically plan for the expansion of the engineering team, setting up robust recruitment and professional development processes.Maintain expert-level knowledge on AI & technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development.What you’ll need : 8-10 years of hands-on software development experience and proven success in developing and deploying greenfield software solutions in 0 to 1 environments.Ability to manage technical teams and effectively recruit & build Engineering teams.Preference for candidates with experience in health data systems (e.g., EMRs, adjudicated claims).Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.Specialized / Technical Skills : Technical Expertise developing platform technologies in an AI environment, with focus on machine and continual learning model development. Experience with platforms / languages like TensorFlow, Python, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Go.Strong expertise in backend systems, cloud infrastructures, and API integrations using modern programming languages.Who you are : A Builder.
