BarkleyOKRP’s Experience and Design group is looking for a talented Senior Designer to join our growing team.Design plays an important role in everything we touch – from strategy, process, and systems to art, motion, and experiences. It fundamentally enhances the work we put out into the world and leads to more enduring brand interactions.As a Senior Designer at BarkleyOKRP, you will employ skill and knowledge in the craft of Design across multiple mediums to create experiences that are distinctive and memorable. You will be called upon to push the boundaries of typography, color, pattern, and imagery to disrupt the visual landscape in the service of great ideas. You’ll think in terms of systems before executions. And you’ll be expected to maintain an active curiosity and awareness of visual trends, technological advances, and cultural nuances within the field of Design.The ideal Senior Designer candidate exhibits a discerning eye and impeccable design sensibilities. They understand the specific business case and strategy for every project, with an appreciation for the clients’ business and industry. The Senior Designer can think beyond static executions to address motion, interaction, and experience design.If reading any of this makes your arm hairs stand up or your spidey-sense tingle, you might be the person we’re looking for.Responsibilities : Pushes the boundaries of imagery, typography, color, pattern, and texture to build compelling design systemsDemonstrates strong art direction skills when developing overall visual approachesOversees the creative vision and execution of photo shoots in collaboration with photographers, stylists, clients, etc.Thinks in terms of systems vs. individual executions (i.e. able to see the bigger, broader application of design)Demonstrates an understanding of the specific business case and agreed-upon strategy for every project, with an appreciation for the client’s business and industryStays actively aware of visual trends, technological advances and cultural nuances within the design fieldLooks for opportunities to disrupt the visual landscape in service of great ideasWorks productively and harmoniously as a teammate with those who share responsibility on day-to-day assignmentsInterfaces with clients on a regular basis, and manages informal presentations and email correspondence as requiredTakes ownership of specific accounts and initiatives above and beyond daily design deliverablesUnder the direction of the DD / ADD, ensures work is seen through to completion – including quality assurance and proofing before final productionQualifications : College degree or related professional experienceA strong portfolio / body of work is required for considerationAn understanding of core design principles such as visual hierarchies, readability and legibility, color theory, typography and neutral spaceStrong knowledge of fundamental design tools, including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and AcrobatDemonstrates the ability to think beyond static executions to address motion design, interaction design, and experience designComfortable presenting and articulating work to design teams and clientsAbility to lead a project within a design team working with other designers and writersHas a strong ability to prioritize work and manage their own time based on short and long-term needsBarkleyOKRP’s Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion We believe being radically diverse and inclusive is the key to becoming one of the world’s great creative idea companies.
