The Opportunity
The Aviation Maintenance Manager is responsible for the evaluation, performance, and management of aircraft maintenance. This individual also maintains current technical proficiency and education of aircraft and regulatory requirements. The manager is responsible for the coordination of repairs and services of the Hangar.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures.
- Complete necessary inspections using precision instruments to measure parts for wear and use.
- Comply with tool calibration requirements
- Communicate all inspections and calibrations with CAMP Maintenance Tracking Software.
- Performs receiving inspection on all incoming parts and components
- Responsible for assuring that the company’s goals for safety, security and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process any safety, security or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations.
- Perform, or oversee the performance of, and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft including engines, landing gear, instruments, accessories (brakes, valves, pumps, air conditioning systems, seats, etc.) and other parts of the aircraft as required. Repairs and services of hangar, shop and ground support equipment.
- Install or modify aircraft engines and mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems
- Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble
- Submission and maintenance of MEL with FAA
- IA certificate
- 5 Years experience on Cessna Caravans 208 & 208B
- 5 Years experience on Pratt & Whitney engines.
- Previous leadership experience
- Ability to run and taxi aircraft.
- Previous experience with on Garmin Avionics. (G1000) Experience a plus
- Comfortable working on a lift platform 3 feet to 20 feet in the air
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs.
- Previous experience operating various tools including, but not limited to jacks, torches, paint guns, sanders, and drill press.
- Ability to lift and move machine parts weighing up to 70 pounds from ground to equipment level (waist level) and maneuver any single item weighing up to 125 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance from another person.
- Skilled in the use of technical manuals.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems effectively.
- Able to communicate both in writing and orally in clear and understandable manner.
