Job Summary
- The candidate is responsible for teaching all phases of the program to include theory and practical instruction of the curriculum.
- Develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aids. Other duties include curriculum development and updates, student record keeping, student recruitment, placement and follow-up.
- Monitors conduct, safety, and discipline during training.
- Provide motivation to students.
- Assist with placement of students in the workforce.
- Participate in recruiting and evaluating students for programs.
- Participate in professional development activities, including cooperating with outside agencies and program advisory committees. Continue personal training and professional development to stay abreast of changes in the industry.
- Must maintain an active advisory committee and communicate with business and industry on a regular basis.
- Must monitor and evaluate student progress; accurately maintain program and student record
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, HiSET (required), Technical Diploma preferred, post-secondary training in Pipefitting and Plumbing or related field.
- Journeyman Pipefitter/Plumber (minimum 5 years required)
- NCCER Pipe Fitter Certification (preferred).

- Must have strong interpersonal skills, pleasant demeanor, and professionalism with coworkers, students, and the public.
- Possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
