About the Role
Twin City Foods, Inc. is seeking a skilled Boiler and Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of our boiler and refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on boiler and refrigeration systems, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of parts.
- Operate and maintain equipment, including boilers, refrigeration units, and auxiliary systems.
- Conduct tests to determine operating efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Inspect equipment for safe condition and need for replacement components.
- Repair or replace broken parts on boiler, refrigeration, and support equipment.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes using hand tools and power tools.
- Participate in Process Safety Management functions and maintain a safe working environment.
- Record data concerning operating hours, temperatures, pressure, and fuel consumption.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Skilled in reading and writing in English.
- Ability to keep detailed records as required.
- Ability to work effectively with others and communicate effectively.
- Must have working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform under pressure of production environment and effectively manage downtime situations.
- Must have working knowledge of the firing, operation, maintenance, and repair of steam boilers, refrigeration, and auxiliary equipment.
- Ability to interpret and work from sketches, drawings, plans, and blueprints.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in determining operating conditions, malfunctions, repairs, and meeting emergency situations.
Working Conditions
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a range of arm movements necessary to operate equipment; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand on concrete, occasionally required to stoop, crouch, and climb or balance.
