What We're Looking For :

We are currently hiring a full-time Electrical Manager for our Ellensburg facility. The Electrical Manager will report to the Plant Manager.

As an Electrical Manager, you will supervise electrical maintenance service and repairs of equipment and fixtures such as motors, lighting, and transformers. You will need to apply best practice procedures utilized in electrical maintenance, supervise staff of electrical maintenance workers and ensure all safety and compliance regulations are met. The ideal candidate needs to have a good knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other applicable standards and regulations.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of electrical theory, practices, procedures, equipment, tools and materials, and exhibits high skill level in the installation, maintenance, and repair of packaging, processing and facility electrical systems.
  • Understand the National Electrical Code, state and local electric codes and ordinances.
  • Designs, reviews, schedules, and supervises the installation, repair and maintenance of conduits, high and low voltage systems, lighting circuits, panel, regulators, emergency power generators, transformers, relay, circuit breakers, switch boxes, and related electrical fixtures and equipment within the facility per code, participating in actual performance of work as needed.
  • Observes and interprets meters and gauges and performs electrical system repair of boilers, refrigeration and auxiliary equipment.
  • Manages LOTO program and oversees weekly audits by crew.
  • Assists in capital budget preparation, planning, and consults with plant management during the selection and installation of new equipment.
  • Prepares lists of needed materials; reviews bids to ensure that all required components are acceptable.
  • Coordinates electrical activities with outside agencies and utility companies.
  • Develops and maintains positive relations with outside agencies, vendors and contractors.
  • Prioritizes jobs and distributes assignments.
  • Assists in supervising electrical contracts with outside agencies.
  • Inspects electrical work performed internally or by outside contractors to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Trains staff in job duties and use of materials.
  • Monitors / inspects the facility for electrical / mechanical problems and / or equipment malfunctions.
  • Working under management authority and prescribed guidelines, acts as purchasing agent in the procurement of approved parts, supplies, materials and equipment used in department maintenance operations.
  • Monitors inventories and distributes all such items to staff.
  • Maintains departmental maintenance records and logs.
  • Notifies supervisory personnel of conditions affecting operation of equipment or safety of staff.
  • Helps maintain general cleanliness of maintenance / electrical areas.
  • Conducts and documents safety meetings and performs electrical inspections within the facility.
  • Works shifts and overtime as required.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions / courses to become and remain current with required electrical licensing / code changes, principles, practices and current trends in the industry.
  • Assist in or recommend hiring or departmental transfers.
  • Preferred Education / Training / Certification Qualifications :

    Degree from accredited 4-year college or electrical training institution in electronics, electrical theory or closely related field and or 5 years of recent, full-time experience in plant operations and maintenance in a similar production environment, preferably food processing, with responsibility as a journeyman level electrician or equivalent, of which at least two years have been served in a supervisory capacity.

  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's license.
  • Possession of a valid Washington State Journeyman's Electrician license.
  • First Aid and CPR certified.
  • Supervisory Responsibility

    Ability to supervise, train, coordinate and evaluate the work of others.

    Essential Physical Abilities :

    The following essential functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation :

  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing which allows effective communications with others.
  • Must be able to walk up to 5 miles for up to 8 hours.
  • Physical ability to use all types of office machines including computers, calculators, and copy machines.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation and mobility, with or without reasonable accommodation, permits the employee to monitor and inspect activities and operations of the plant.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes which permits the employee to work outside and inside; work around machines and equipment with moving parts; work around moving objects; work on ladders and / or scaffolding; slippery or uneven walking surfaces and climbing / crouching in tight spaces.
  • Sufficient range of arm movement necessary to operate a personal computer and related equipment.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and strength to move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Sufficient mobility & stamina to spend up to 80% of shift on production floor performing essential job functions.
  • Participate in Respiratory Program.
  • Ability to travel to other TCF locations.
