As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to maintain proper production by ensuring that the production line equipment is working at full capacity.

What We're Looking For :

We are currently hiring a Maintenance Manager. As a Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in directing and coordinating all activities relating to building maintenance, construction projects, equipment maintenance and repair, plant purchasing and parts inventory.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required :

  • Five years' experience (preferably in a production plant)
  • Strong mechanical aptitudes and a working knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly.
  • Familiarity with all current health and safety regulations.
  • Strong supervisory / coaching skills coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with and adapt to ever changing practices and situations.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels (internal / external).
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complicated tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Must exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel / Word) and use of Internet.
  • Ability to interface effectively with mechanical and construction contractors.
  • Knowledgeable in all phases of construction and building maintenance.
  • Food processing experience in canned or frozen vegetables desired.
  • Must possess a valid, current Washington State Drivers License.

Required Education :

  • High School diploma with continued education in industrial maintenance.
  • Several years of experience in industrial maintenance and supervision.
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively perform the duties of the position.
  • Supervisory experience / leading a team.
  • Project management skills.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Supervise the scheduling and direction of maintenance employees for daily work assignments.
  • Schedule and supervise routine, preventative, predictive and downtime maintenance projects.
  • Establish job priorities and time frames for maintenance projects.
  • Monitor completion of job assignments to ensure instructions are followed and compliance with standards attained.
  • Schedule and monitor contractors for upgrades, repairs and maintenance of facility and surrounding area.
  • Ensure maintenance projects are completed as scheduled with minimal downtime. Enforce plant rules & government regulations.
  • Review and suggest mechanical upgrades and changes.
  • Maintain adequate staffing to ensure projects are completed with minimal overtime.
  • Review and utilize available literature and reference materials on current technology and practices.
  • Work closely and communicate effectively with department heads and supervisors to accomplish repair and maintenance and operation efficiently, including present and potential work problems.
  • Make suggestions for new or improved designs or procedures.
  • Provide accurate information on project progress.
  • Maintain all maintenance and construction project records, ensuring accuracy.
  • Purchase plant parts and supplies and maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure quality purchases at cost effective prices.
  • Maintain knowledge of current practices, developments, and technology within area responsibility.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and ensure mechanical safety items are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Assist with maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibility :

  • Supervise up to 20 in-house facility mechanics and supervise the activities of all outside contractors who are working in the plant or on the grounds.
  • Prepare work schedules, assign work, and oversee the work product (while minimizing overtime).
  • Coach, counsel and manage performance of direct reports.
  • Develop and maintain Preventative Maintenance Schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery.
  • Arrange for and manage appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed.
  • Secure estimates and cost quotes as needed.
  • Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Selected employee will be required to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen and E-Verify
