Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies. This position involves monitoring compliance with various regulations, including FMCSA regulations, OSHA standards, and other relevant guidelines within the transportation management sectors. The Compliance Officer will work closely with various departments to implement compliance strategies and mitigate risks associated with fleet management and freight operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct periodic audits of driver logs, driver qualification files, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports on compliance status and findings for management review.
- Collaborate with safety and transportation management teams to ensure all processes meet regulatory standards.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters, including risk management practices and ensure that all CDL holders meet current regulatory requirements and maintain their qualifications.
- Leverage MyGeotab platform to achieve and improve a safer and more compliant work environment.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations affecting the industry and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures that promote compliance across the organization.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or inquiries.
- Collect heavy equipment mileage and hub readings monthly.
- Replace registration, IFTA, HazMat, Insurance, Apportioned cab cards and quarterly hub permits on all vehicles.
- Understand pre and post trip inspection reports to ensure they completed properly.
Qualifications .
- Minimum of 3 years recent experience with an expertise in DOT Compliance
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, OSHA standards, risk management principles, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with fleet management practices and freight operations is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to identify potential compliance issues proactively.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Professional certification in DOT compliance is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Preferably experience with MyGeotab or a fleet managment platform
- Self-starter who can work with little direction

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
