This position is a more entry level role, working with a HR Generalist, and Regional HR Manager this person will contribute to the overall success of the HR department by providing HR and administrative support with an emphasis on recruitment, time and attendance, leave administration, safety coordination, and general administrative support to the department. The individual will be performing these duties with confidentiality, professionalism, and a sense of urgency.
Some of the Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruits, assesses, interviews, and recommends qualified individuals to fill non leadership position openings in Manufacturing. Facilitates the entire recruitment process for those positions to include: select media, draft and place ads, coordinate with third party vendors, screen resumes, recommend candidates for the interview process to the hiring manager/supervisor, interview candidates, update affirmative action logs, complete reference checks, and prepare courteous and timely correspondence to all applicants (to include offers of employment and/or letters indicating we have not selected them for the role). This role provides counseling for supervisors/managers on creating interview questions, assessments, and also provides recommendations to the hiring supervisor/manager on most qualified candidates.
- Responsible for preparing and sending temporary employee timecards to agencies
- Coordinates and conducts new hire orientation for all positions.
- Administers the time and attendance program for all employees and prepares disciplinary notices per policy and sends them to supervisors/managers to be delivered.
- Coordinates Safety Activities and training.
- Administers leaves (approves and denies) according to the employee handbook, including: FMLA, Wisconsin FMLA, and other leaves.
- Maintains personnel files (electronic and paper) and employee information in accordance with government regulations.
- Prepares monthly employee acknowledgement information – birthdays, anniversaries, new employees, etc.
- Assists with researching, planning, and helping to coordinate a variety of employee relations activities such as company social events and awards programs.
This person must have a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources. Prefer someone that has had a HR Internship for relative experience. Knowledge of general human resources practices and employment law required.
