Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Overview

We're looking for an energetic Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance / Accounting team. The AP Specialist will be responsible for assigned Accounts Payable functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The AP Specialist will ensure that all vendor bills and cash payments are booked and allocated correctly with sufficient evidence in compliance with our internal controls. Ensures work is completed, accurately, and compliant with accounting regulations and company policies and procedures.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform and understand all accounts payable functions : matching, batching, coding, entering, posting
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
• Perform and understand the preparation of payments via check, ACH and wires
• Performs quality check when approving invoices for payment, receive a high volume of invoices, accurately code and process for approval and payment
• Ensure proper authorization and documentation is obtained before invoice processing
• Own procedural documentation and communicate changes as business needs evolve
• Own AP inbox, ensuring timely processing and responses to internal and external inquiries
• Reconciling of outstanding checks, and other unreconciled payment methods
• Own 1099 Reporting
• Participate in process improvement and create / maintain workflow efficiencies
• Ensure company policies, processes, and procedures are clearly defined, updated, and documented
